Following the discoveries that renowned politicians, Celebrities, families, and friends are testing positive to Covid-19, palpable fears have gripped Nigerians. The latest shocking news was that of celebrity chef, Chioma Avril Rowland, fiancée of singer, Davido, who tested positive for Coronavirus.
Davido had announced it on his Instagram page on Friday that Chioma is positive:
” My fiancée Chioma, also came back from London recently with our baby. We had no symptoms and still feel fine but because of our travel history, we decided to take ourselves and all we’ve come in contact with recently for the COVID-19 test. Unfortunately, my fiancée’s test came back positive…,”.
Also, the discovery that one of those who attended the recent Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards ( AMVCA) organised recently in Lagos tested positive to the disease caused a lot of panics. Before now, some prominent politicians including Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, some governors, Senators, House of Representatives members, their aides and families tested positive to Covid-19 19 is another pointer that Nigeria is in trouble.
It was also discovered that some Immigration officers and that of other allied agencies who interacted with the carriers of Covid-19 while returning to the country may be infected with the disease.
An investigation by Cornerstone news has shown that many people, including entertainment reporters who interacted with some of the celebrities, may also be infected.
It was gathered that Media companies have since sent home some of their entertainment reporters for fear of infecting other staff.
