The Department of State Services (DSS) has said that suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele is now with them.
There were reports yesterday that the apex bank’s governor was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) yesterday night, which they denied.
But in a statement by the secret police made available around 2.18pm, they confirmed the former CBN boss was now with them.
According to spokesman of DSS, Dr Peter Afunanya, “The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby confirms that Mr Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is now in its custody for some investigative reasons.
“The public, particularly the Media, is enjoined to apply utmost caution in the reportage and narratives concerning this.”
