The Assistant Inspector General, AIG Owohunwa Idowu conducted a visit to Cell of Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU0, which falls under his supervision.
According to spokesperson of FCID, Alagbon, ASP Aminat Mayegun, “During the visit, where he engaged with 20 detainees, some of whom have exceeded the period of detention. During the visit, the AIG cautioned the CP PSFU and emphasized the importance of consistent monitoring of the cell to prevent custodial violence.
“Furthermore, the AiG highlighted the necessity to respect the rights of citizens in custody. This visit serves as a reminder of our commitment to ensuring humane treatment and upholding the fundamental rights of individuals in detention.
“He urged all Sectional heads to take a proactive approach by routinely visit the cell within their purview to ensure justice and human rights preservation.”
