We, the undersigned four heirs and children of the Late Alhaji Chief M.K.O. Abiola and Alhaja Kudirat Abiola, otherwise known as KD 7, for and on behalf of all the disinherited heirs and children of our Father, the Late Alhaji Chief M.K.O. Abiola, (Chief MKO) do hereby publicly disclaim all actions taken by the self-appointed Directors
of Summit Oil Company Limited (the “Company”) in relation to its business transactions with Duport Midstream Company Limited (Duport) and/or any other business entity.
We wish to clarify for the benefit of the Members of the Public that the Company is a legacy company inherited by all the children and heirs of Chief MKO Abiola, that had all, prior to now, been deceived by their Siblings, particularly Kola Abiola and Zulikat Wuraola Abiola, who not only self-appointed themselves as Directors of Summit Oil Company Ltd., but furthermore entered into multimillion US Dollar transactions with Duport and other business entities without the knowledge of and the necessary consent of other heirs and beneficiaries of Chief MKO’s Estate.
Presently, we the heirs of the Company being unaware of the said business relationships with Duport, and other entities have been divested by the said self-appointed Directors of Summit. We are particularly alarmed, at the content of the Petition from Summit Oil, dated June 2, 2023, addressed to the Inspector General of Police, of the Nigerian Police Force, and signed by our sister, Zulikat Wuraola Abiola, titled,
‘Complaint of Economic Sabotage and Diversion of Funds Against Duport Midstream Company Limited’.
In that petition, Wuraola admitted that Summit Oil under her watch, sold over 566,000 (Five Hundred and Sixty-Six Thousand), barrels of crude oil (condensates) to Duport with a value of over $50 million (Fifty Million US Dollars), for which Summit was fully paid in cash, less the disputed sum of $5,636,397.01 (Five Million, Six Hundred and
Thirty Six Thousand, Three Hundred and Ninety Seven US Dollars, One Cent).
Not only were we never told about these transactions, but our siblings, Kola and Wuraola have consistently lied to us, the children of Chief MKO and the Executors of Chief MKO’s Estate, that Summit Oil was not operational.
It is instructive that Wuraola similarly made a statement to the Police on June 6, 2023, where she adopted the above
petition and both documents, along with other sensitive documents and Agreements, were filed as Exhibits in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CR/570/2023 between the Inspector General of Police and (1). Dr. Akintoye Akindele and (2). Duport Midstream Company Limited.
Some of the said court filed documents further revealed that the Company had a
commercially rewarding relationship with Suntera, a Company that was invested in by the Government of India. In addition, it is pertinent to mention that we are deeply shocked by the diversion of the Company’s assets by Kola and Wuraola Abiola
Since all these actions taken by these self-appointed Directors of Summit, including the Petition written to the Police, were without our knowledge or consent and were unauthorized, we hereby declare that they do not represent the interests of all the heirs of Alhaji Chief MKO Abiola and we hereby disown the Petition.
Consequently, we call on the Inspector General of Police to disregard the Petition and withdraw all consequential actions so far taken against Dr. Akintoye Akindele and Duport Midstream Company Ltd on the basis of the Petition.
We have perceived these actions to be mere bully tactics deployed by Kola and Wuraola, to wrongly instigate the Institutions of the State to harass and thus prevent Dr. Akintoye Akindele from paying the said disputed and outstanding sum of money to the Estate of our Late Father, Chief MKO, so as to benefit all his heirs.
Furthermore, we hereby notify members of the Public, that we reserve all our rights to protect our interests in this and all other related matters and we hereby, most genuinely, call on the Inspector General of Police to take appropriate legal action to hold our siblings, Kola and Wuraola, to account for all the diverted earnings from Summit Oil and any other legacy business entity of our late Father.
Signed for and on behalf of
THEMSELVES AND ALL THE CHILDREN OF THEIR MOTHER THE LATE ALHAJA KUDIRAT ABIOLA AS WELL AS ALL OTHER CHILDREN AND HEIRS OF CHIEF M.K.O. ABIOLA’S ESTATE THAT
HAVE BEEN DEPRIVED OF THE FULL BENEFIT OF THE ESTATE OF THEIR LATE FATHER.
